Chemonics' education practice focuses on improving people's lives by enhancing the quality of the education they receive and linking it practically to their futures. Using multi-sectoral approaches, we develop learning experiences that allow students to make informed decisions regarding schooling, employment, and community involvement. Through all of our educational activities, we seek to support host-country efforts to increase the access to and quality of educational opportunities for children, youth, and young adults.- Vocational Education and Training: To ensure that students are employable, Chemonics' approach to vocational education and training links formal educational opportunities with private sector needs. To do this, we establish public-private partnerships that leverage private sector knowledge, skills, and resources to improve the utility of public-sponsored vocational education and training. Chemonics also pays particular attention to teaching at-risk youths. Our programs incorporate life-skills education in the standard curriculum, allowing vulnerable youth to learn a vocation while ensuring they have a fundamental understanding of the skills they need to find and keep employment.
- Post-Secondary Education: Through our post-secondary education work, Chemonics looks to develop thought leadership and academic research to help countries lead their own development and reform for generations to come. We focus on developing graduate-level courses and degree programs that produce locally educated professionals and research to drive public sector policy development and implementation as well as enhance private sector effectiveness and efficiency.
- Primary and Secondary Education: Chemonics' work in primary and secondary education focuses on utilizing the classroom to help improve communities and students' lives. Across multiple regions we have trained educators and community members on ways to teach children diverse topics such as environmental awareness, democracy, and health issues. Our programs integrate information that is relevant to students' lives into lessons that support the intellectual and social growth of children and encourages their involvement in improving their community.
